No Way to Treat a Lady
The Friends of the PGH partnered with Repertory Philippines and sponsored one night performance of the musical comedy “No Way to Treat a Lady”. The FPGH-sponsored one-night performance succeeded in raising funds from the ticket sale to support the projects of FPGH. “ No Way To Treat A Lady ” is a musical comedy thriller with book, music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen based on the best-selling novel and renowned movie by William Goldman. Directed by Audie Gemora, “No Way To Treat A Lady” is a musical comic thriller chronicling the exploits of a 1970s momma’s boy serial killer – who draws a red lipstick kiss on the forehead of each of his victims as a calling card – and the hardened momma’s boy cop hell-bent on tracking him down.“No Way To Treat a Lady” focuses on the themes—betrayal, death, friendship, Jewish/Yiddish issues, love, parenting/family.
As a witty, snappy, dark, and wickedly entertaining black comedy, the music and lyrics of “No Way To Treat a Lady” were magical — inviting the audience to start humming melodies that stay with them. All the elements come together to illustrate what a first-rate musical should be!

FPGH Celebrates its 30th Anniversary Year of the FPGH
The Friends of the PGH is a non-profit organization founded by volunteer ladies in October 1984. Its aim is to assist and support the Philippine General Hospital by providing health care and welfare to its indigent patients. Every year, around 600,000 patients go to PGH for treatment, of which almost 85% are indigent patients who can hardly cope to buy their medication to treat their illnesses. Medical personnel of PGH usually advise their indigent patients to run to the office of the Friends of PGH to seek help for their medication. For 30 years now, the Friends of PGH has helped countless indigent patients survive their health concerns. The members and Board of the Friends of PGH are still around to continue their advocacy but more funds are needed to be able to augment its dwindling resources. For its 30th Anniversary, around 50 members gathered at the Manila Polo Club with Dr. Esperanza Cabral as its guest speaker. A variety of health issues were raised and discussed with Dr. Cabral ranging from reproductive health, contraceptive methods, stem cells, public hospitals' poor conditions, heart attacks and strokes, fatty liver, kidney diseases, etc.
